Transdermal magnesium

Posted by Trotter on April 7, 2009, at 5:27:59

I tried taking magnesium citrate (600mg magnesium) but after a few days I developed yeast infection (candida) symptoms so I stopped taking it (I have a long history of candida problems). George Eby warns about the danger of oral magnesium stimulating candida growth. However I did initially notice I had more energy taking the magnesium citrate, before the brain fog and irritability set in.

I bought some magnesium glyconate, but have not taken it because I fear it will also feed the yeast. Damn. I was hopeful this would help my depression and anxiety.

Instead I have been taking epsom salt baths and just yesterday started spraying magnesium oil on my body. Right from the first epsom salts bath I have felt more relaxed, which has positively affected my overall mood.

Anyone else taking magnesium baths or using a magnesium oil or gel? Are all the mood benefits immediate, or do they continue to improve as magnesium reserves build up in the body over the weeks/months?
