In reply to Glycine for anxiety?, posted by Lao Tzu on February 19, 2009, at 9:59:16
I am not saying glycine will work for everybody. I think it worked well for me only because I was diagnosed with bipolar depression and schizophrenia. However, I could not tolerate real high dosages of it, only about 2-3 grams a day. But I do think it will improve symptoms of severe anxiety if you have that associated with your depression. It is worth looking into if you've tried everything else and nothing else has helped you. Just be REAL CAREFUL not to overdose on it. I would say start off with 1,000mg and see how that helps you. If that doesn't work well go up to 2,000mg. If it worsens your depression, stop taking it right away. It may or may not help you. Good luck.
