I've been wondering this with posts I've read and my experience with moclobemide and Parnate. It's always said 'give it a fair trial', but like you, I've been reluctant to continue with something that just seems to be making things worse. But I've started tianeptine and that felt OK from the beginning. It has minimal side effects and the bits you don't like really do feel like side effects.
You might expect your response to Lexapro to be similar to your response to Celexa?
I don't suppose you can expct your doctor to be sympathetic or knowledgable about alternatives; it is natural for him to see them as inneffective or dangerous. But what would you take if you didn't keep up the Lexapro? SAMe? Fish Oil? 5htp? deprenyl?
