> Hope this is the right board for this question. I have a tight muscle up the right side of my head, just up from the ear about halfway between the ear and the top of my head. It hurts when I tip my head up. I would like to be able to release it myself. Any suggestions?
> Thanks, Green WillowI would try heat, followed by gentle stretching. A hot water bottle wrapped in a towel, or a wet towel in a big plastic zipper bag, heated in the microwave, then wrapped in a towel, for twenty minutes. That promotes blood circulation, which should reduce lactate (likely cause of muscle spasm). While muscle is still warm, gently move your head in the angle that it didn't like to do. It might take as many as three sessions to get it to quiet down completely.
