Something's fishy Lar

Posted by Toph on November 16, 2004, at 10:00:07

I hope you don't mind my asking, but I have light hyperlipidemia and dysthymia. So, fish oil should help, right? I don't know if you give recommendations but I'd sure like to have your imput on a couple things.

Is pure fish oil the best way to metabolize omega 3 fatty acids or would a blend of fish oil and flax seed oil be better?

Heavy metals in fish is a problem - is Alaskan deep sea fish or New Zealand fish oil worth the extra cost (can be considerable) to avoid this problem?

I like grilled fresh salmon and eat it frequently, should I not take fish oil on days that I eat fish?

How do you choose among the vast offerings of fish oils?
