Hi Katia,
I have had experiences with shamanic healing. It has helped me a lot and still does. I have been labeled with many diagnoses, including bipolar.
My experience has been wonderful, but it is hard because all sorts of feelings deep inside me began to bubble (sometimes erupt) up. It's hard "work". I'm lucky to have found someone who is really good for me (very responsive) and is great at it. For me, this is the path I need to heal and it works for me. It's not for everyone, though (I have friends who choose other approaches.) I'm not trying to discourage you, just sharing my experience. It's up to you.
Shamanic healing can take many forms, including things that are thought of by most as shaman stuff, but also things like reiki/ energy healing. Were you thinking about any particular form of shamanism? I've experinced reiki, other energy healing and some other shamanic things that need some explaining - it's better in my mind to describe things rather than give them a label.
To me, it's important to find someone who really knows what they are doing and is good at it - and also someone you really connect with. There are some people out there who are either too messed up themselves to be helping someone else, or are frauds.
I feel like I'm going on and on. I'll write more about my experience if you'd like. Just ask me :)
