The article was by Dr. David Perlmutter and Dr. Pall was mentioned in terms of Dr. Perlmutter borrowing from or building on Dr. Pall's research. It's an interesting article with dosing schedule and all - probably nothing you don't already know but it might be worth a look-see:

I don't think Gabbi would be threatened. I'm much too old for that. I just turned 49 - but I can still wear hip hop clothes for another year, eh? (OMG, you're turning me into a Canadian!)

> My relational database brain really liked the way it tied different threads together. I will read this one over and over again, methinks, and springboard from it to other avenues of research. Yes!

And to think I debated whether or not to send it to you! I'm so glad it gave you good information. Dr. Perlmutter has a book out called "Brainrecovery.com". He also has another one just out that I think repackages that one in a more commercial way for the masses. I just ordered it from the library. (They didn't have the "Brainrecovery" one.)

I recently posted another article on the main board that King Vultan (Todd) thought might finally explain his problem with depression. Considering that I understand about 75% (at most and on a good day) of what either of you two usually have to say, I think I've done quite good for myself lately.

> " Michael Schmidt is Professor of Applied Biochemistry and Clinical Nutrition at Northwestern College of Health Sciences. He tells me, 'The DHA found in BC-Phosphatidylserine could have important effects. However, it’s possible when soy Phosphatidylserine is ingested that the body will take its own DHA and attach it to the phosphoserine head group, thus replacing the smaller chained fatty acids. Synthesizing phospholipids requires energy and effort. If Phosphatidylserine provides the phosphoserine head, then it will give brain cells a break from having to create it de novo.' "

The phospholipids in cell membranes have a high turnover, and they are routinely dissassembled and reassembled (to eliminate fatty acids damaged by oxidative stress, for example). If your body has DHA available, it will certainly incorporate it during turnover.

Sooooo why didn't Dr. Sahelian just come out and say that instead of going through all of that mental masturbation about whether PS is useful at all now that it's made from soy????? Sheesh! It's so frustrating sometimes but leave it to you to read the fine print!

Thanks again.
