Tanya, if you do try the 5htp, I recommend starting with the 50 mg tabs first, start slowly, gradually.. treat it as tho its a pharmaceutical. I've read alot of negative as well as positive about it. I dont think it comes in smaller doses then 50 mgs. Thats what I"m staying on til I get off my cold medicine and I can see how I truly feel.. cough syrup w/codeine.. isnt such a bad thing! ;)
Another thing, while shopping for it.. the prices ranged as high as 30 bucks, not very costly for the benefit of your health, but I got it in its pure form.. no additives for $7.99. Look at the ingredients and dont let the fancy sounding/high priced name brands fool ya.
I'll probably take higher doses as time passes/seasons change, but wait til those days come.. I also heard it helps people lose weight... I hope!!!
I've seen a lot of people on here talk about 5-htp. Someone else I know recommended the Jarrow brand 5-htp, (100 mg) for me for something totally different. I ordered it. I have no idea if it works but want to try it. My friend takes it at night and other people have posted on here that within a day or two they feel a lot better.
