Request for Voluntary Blocks

Mr Hsuing, please consider allowing posters to request and receive blocks. It seems like it would be a win win situation. For instance Ms derHeart would have been spared emotional distress if you had acceded to her request at once rather than prolonging the process. And you would be spared administrative decision making, formulaic calculations etc etc etc
There are many reasons why one might wish to be blocked from the board. Are there any reasons why you refuse to do this? (You informed me by email that this was not your policy.)
