Because...say I click the FB 'Share' button here on anyone's post. It pops up a window so I can either share the post on my timeline or someone else's (depends on settings/permissions of friends).
Say I do that, even without making a comment (always optional). It will post to my timeline, on my FB page and say:
"RealFirstName RealLastName posted a link" The link to the URL to the PB post is underneath.
My FB page has real info all about real me, as it should.
So...unless my acquaintances/friends/family who read my page fairly often aren't curious, they may naturally wonder where the words to the post in the link come from, click through to here (what you want)...and well, the rest will vary depending on how much they read, what they ask me, etc. It would be pretty awkward to explain too much... I personally am open about **reading** here for years, which most people have been totally fine with...BUT I don't offer up the URL or that I was/am a long time poster.
Linking them directly to a post is SO different to me....my PB posting name would easily give away which posts are mine to several people who know certain things about me. Sure, maybe no one would bother to read that much, or would not figure it out, but I am not willing to go there. I don't want some curious and clever person guessing which person is me and reading all the things I've posted here...no way.
Others here, due to family, work, social issues, do not want to take a chance of connecting the two identities either.
