having an emsam/tyramine or msg reaction right now

Posted by Christia on January 2, 2012, at 22:02:25

This is not fun. My normally low BP (90/60 or 100/70) is up into the 150/85 range. I just took my first 9 mg patch today and had some restaurant soup this eve. 20 minutes later, the headache came on I remember from Parnate, but not as bad. Stopped at the drugstore, and my BP was 127/80. Bought a monitor, it is not good as the fluctuation is too great.

Here's the question. I asked the nurse on call the same one. How long do I need to monitor this? What is the normal time of crisis? An hour? A day? I am going to the ER if it doubles from normal, according to the nurse. Ideas?

Thanks!
