I always felt secure in my role as deputy, because I thought that Bob backed up any action that I might take - and he was free to undo any action I took as well. The training was thorough, extensive, and insightful. I was in training to be a deputy for MONTHS before I was allowed to act on the boards. That made me feel safe in my role. Knowing that I had a team of fellow deputies to draw upon for difficult situations for consultation was invaluable.

The whole idea, though, of being elected for a similar volunteer position leaves me quaking my my sandals. That rejection thang, you know.
