Japanese trains do not have conductors, surprisingly perhaps. I don't know how that worked, but evidently because the Japanese have not abandoned the public, unlike the governments of the Anglosphere.
Like Pat said, that wouldn't happen here or with you.

I think it was Pat's stop. Her sense of right and wrong precluded apology.
Didn't she say something like that? I'd hate to misrepresent her.
