I really do think it's a pure coincidence. You're right, though, I can see it could look weird, all considered together. I thought of that before I told Dr. Bob what I needed to do, and again before posting this thread. But my alternatives weren't okay with me. I've been back and forth about the deputy thing for a few months (quite a hard decision for me) and I didn't want to wait even longer, just because of coincidental events happening around me. And doing it but not posting really seemed like a lie of omission - not telling the community about my 'change in status.' I was not comfortable with that.
I don't think you're that paranoid. I think asking is usually way better than not asking, too.
Hopefully Dinah and Dr. Bob will post, too.
