do as i say, but not as i do

Posted by Dory on October 12, 2007, at 8:10:17

clarification requested:

i was chastized for "pointing a finger at everyone" by making a comment about the posters on babble, a generalization. It was not a particularly kind one i admit.

However, i have recently noticed a far from kind finger-pointing generalization post that doesn't even speak in terms of personal experience, but instead just wholesale denegrates everyone.

now, i am all for being able to express an opinion about the community as a whole, kind or unkind, so long as it is not directed at a specific poster. And by community, i mean babble, not outside groups or populations. BUT i want this clarified.

Can we or can we not make statements of personal feelings about the babble community that may be unkind or unwelcomed?

i would prefer to have any answer given to be done so here, on the boards rather than through email. If something is being said regarding policy, this time i want it public and not private.
