Glydin, those are good questions. My idea for the Washington proposal was that what would be presented wouldn't be research, but the experiences and opinions of the individual presenters.

I think that would be more clear if we didn't ask others for input for the workshop. So Llurpsie, let's not do that. In general, though, I think it's fine to discuss issues like posting more vs. less.

1) I'm not currently involved with any projects that are using information from the boards in research.

2 and 3) Usually what's required is the consent of the research subjects. But it's also true that in some cases research may not be subject to review by an IRB or an IRB may grant a waiver of consent, see, for example:
