Is there rule re: name usage n body of followup?

Posted by Fivefires on July 17, 2007, at 13:42:58

I will often refer to a poster by name or initials in the body of a followup.

I think, if one wishes not to be referred to by the name they have posted with, they should change it via the admin route asap.

If for some reason they are unable to logon and follow the name chg procedure, what should they do?

When trying to comfort someone in a followup, my feelings were a bit hurt, when I was told in capital letters by another poster not to use this person's posting name.

I think it might have been better for a confidante of the person unable to make the name change, to go to Admin and explain.

Or, make another rule - No using name or initials in body of a post or followup. I'd hate to see that happen.
