Thanks for response 10derHeart!

You know, this is 'r e a l l i f e ' to me. We shouldn't feel ashamed to say this. When you say Dr. Bob is doing things 'IRL', you are, inadvertently I'm sure, saying he's doing something more important. Pls don't tell me I've misunderstood it's meaning. It's 'our joke on ourselves'. No one from Admin has ever commented or told me 'just because you're communicating online, doesn't mean it's not an IRL experience'. Truly, I'm finding 'our joke on ourselves', hurts a bit.

I'm not saying u shouldn't be a deputy voluntarily, if that sits right with you.

I'm simply saying someone needs to watch over the boards, scan for unanswered posts, check at 2hr intervals for problems, and late eve checks to be sure there isn't someone left alone in crisis.

Maybe this someone could be a psychologist or peer support specialist and be paid for monitoring the boards 24/7.

Afa "to follow up threads", I meant, after someone posts, whatever comes next are follow-ups to that thread. Often times 'no one' or 'a particular someone we all know' fills this role. Both seem wrong.

So again I'm saying there needs to be someone to watch over the boards; someone w/ knowledge and empathy and understanding, such as a peer support specialist.

I know people who have had troubles in their lives like mine, but have pulled through and now work as therapists or such, and now are considered 'normal people', but they have retained the ability to be kind and empathetic. There has to be someone out there who is as kind and thoughtful as we, the so-called mentally ill posters, are.(?) (An interesting take, if I do say so myself.)

Tearing apart what I've said is already making it more confusing.

I have no problems with a specific poster or post. Yes, that's ez enough to express. This process is set in place well. I think it works well enough.

I have a problem w/ there being 'no one to watch over the site' -or- 'to have the posters backs.

The site needs guidance. I need guidance. What could it hurt to give it a try?

I hope someone doesn't say, 'well, if you want an on-site therapist or peer support specialist, you'll have to pay to join babble.' Ouch!

Am I incorrect, or didn't Dr. Bob write a book about the site and doesn't he receive $ for each which is sold.

He could add a chapter and sell another book, and call it 'Online Site Reaches New Level'. Welcome psychologist John Doe to the site.

It's not so far off the wall, is it?

tks, 5f
