I still find the Search on this site to be very hard to use.
Everything ithe results are chaotic--; posts are interspersed with threads-- and often if I look for something, all I get is the main page on which the thread is somewhere-- To find it, I 'd need to open every thread on the page--
or at least all threads that had my search terms in them-- which sometimes is a lot.
or the poster whom I"m trying to check on- eg if someone is talking about a med, I might want to see how it affected them, or others, in the past-- and I get hundreds of posts/threads/main Pbabble pages-- all mixed togetherIs there some way to
1. have the threads/posts sorted chronologically
2. have only posts listed
3. do a comprehensive search for a poster, within a certain time frame, or a subject within a time frame?Note: I've tried this and it invariably comes with with no posts- or off-topic posts-- even though I know I've read posts on the topic before
Somehow, I think the search function here doesn't work terribly well. It seemed better in the past, when it wasn't hooked up to google--
for one, thing, it mostly yielded individual posts--
At least when I used to come here, I mostly did searched for information on meds-- and it was helpful-- Now searches tend to be less helpful than one supposed they would be--somehow. I'm glad they're there (thanks for having them and the archives)-- but they could be so much more a source of important information.
