Hearsay and the telephone game / chinese whispers has recently come to my attention too relating to a she is me context. I've always been fasinated by the "final messages that will bear little or no resemblance to the original, because of the cumulative effect of mistakes along the line.*" Clear memories of the time in school when I was introduced to chinese whispers (actually demonstrated by teachers all passing along messages with the students) it had a very interesting/entertaining conclusion.
>Sorry, I don't really know who anyone is.
To change your sentence to my own needs. Sorry, anyone doesn't really know who I is - -Anonymity is partly why I use this site - - if we played the game in/directly with that as the opening phrase(s), i'd forecast a high probability it could easily end up "I know who he is!" and "Anonymity is why he doesn't use the site!"
Funny the way events often happen in three's.
