This is excerpted from a discussion board that I haven't used for a long time. I don't think any explanation for my discontinuation is needed once you've read these rules!
Rules of the XX Forum:
"~Post on the proper message board: Faith & Spirit, Introductions, Milestones, Fun & Laughter folder, etc. Jokes should be posted in the monthly humor thread."
"~Threads will be removed when original post has been deleted by author."
"~Threads that lose focus of the original poster’s topic and begin to take on negative undertones will be deleted."
"~Any type of advertising placed on the message board or within the forum "Link" section will be promptly deleted."
"~Anyone posting on the message board seeking to obtain information from XX members in regard to any and all undergoing XX studies must first have approval from the XX office. Without office approval the message will be deleted."
"Please do not post messages that...
…contain profanity (written or implied), or racially/ethnically offensive content directed toward another individual or group. We all have the ability to ‘make our point’ without resorting to profanity or being offensive."
"…target another member or group to threaten harm, harass, cause distress or cause embarrassment. This is not a forum of judgment or innuendo. Personal disagreements between members should be handled by private e-mail and not made public on the forum."
"…post a personal phone number, email, home address or other personal information (last names, family members, coworkers,etc.) that could identify you. For safety, pass them on by private e-mail! A reminder to those responding to messages from their e-mail digest…please take care that names and e-mail addresses of others are not copied and pasted into your response."
Whew!
So every time I say (and I haven't expressed this in a long time) that I am grateful for Psycho-Babble; I am grateful for the guidelines and how they are applied. There is much less censorship here than at so many other forums.ClearSkies
