Google – regular Google that currently indexes Babble – uses the same approach as Google Scholar with many non-scholarly pay-access sites.

I was simply trying to give an example that you and Alexandra would've seen.

My point is that restricting public access to Babble does not mean that posts can't be indexed by Google.

There are many good objections to making Babble members-only, but loss of Googleability isn't one of them.
