Yeah, the actual wording made me hesitate too. I mean, it's not 100% clear if there's a difference in Dr. Bob's eyes between perhaps casually mentioning, "hey, I was talking to [Insert Name of Blocked Poster] and they said, or asked, or wondered, or told me they're doing well or......" and, saying something more like, "[Insert Name of Blocked Poster] wants to know/wants me to tell you/asks if anyone needs help...."To me, it's nearly impossible to cover every possible intention or situation. To me, there *would* be some differences. But, I thought it might be an impossibly fine line for poor Phillipa to walk, so I went with a "better safe than sorry" approach regarding Dr. Bob and/or the FAQ rule by posting as I did.
Then, of course in this case, the subject matter Lou spoke of turns everything on its head for me. Because of extraordinary circumstances, I would tend to want the rule bent into a pretzel shape. It's not easy, this deputy business, is it?
Maybe the very best thing would have been for Lou to email Dr. Bob and ask him to post his kind offer...? But there's always the time factor, and right now that would be critical for any potential Babbler who really did need a place to stay.
