Loyalty could be a reason too..
I know it was my loyalty to this place that caused me to be so upset about some postings over there (though that was ages ago now)..
Or is loyalty the right word?
Or fear of losing this place.. You're the most tolerant moderator I've ever come across in many years of using online boards, newsgroups etc, but I do get scared there will be a final line thats crossed and makes you hang up your boots. And while there are times we all need a break, this place means so much to me I would fight tooth and nail to keep it alive..
Some will probably attribute it to jealousy, but I don't see that in it at all..
another thought on loyalty.. This place, to me, is like an extended family.. and while I can moan about my family as much as I want, *no one* else is allowed to, and I would support my family to the ends of the earth.. So maybe there is love in loyalty too..
