I regularly use different computers to access the site, so storing cookies on my computer doesn't really work for me, I just try to remember what I have already read.
Boards like Psyke (and others) sometimes have sections that only members with a certain amount of posts can access/see - that makes people feel more confident about posting very personal things on a very public board.
