sound alerts in Open

Dr. Bob,
Is there anyway to set up a sound alert when someone posts in Open like there is with yahoo instant messenger? I find that if no one is in there and I am in there hanging out, I don't notice if someone joins, and then I look like a ghost and I miss out on chatting. If there could be a chime or some other sound when someone joins or with each new post, that would be helpful for me. Of course I suppose having the ability to turn this off might be nice, too, especially if it gets busy again.
