Lou, the statement in the FAQ's is just shorthand for "you shouldn't say anything that the moderator feels would be likely to make others feel put down". It isn't feasible for any moderator to consider all the possibilities of what could possibly make each and every poster feel put down. Because everyone *does* have their own legitimate reasons, and every single person *is* unlike every other single person. We each carry our own experiences and our own perceptions.
But we are allowed (within the civility guidelines) to post our own reactions to a post. Or to post about our own deep and abiding love of our own faith.
