Your profile at Yahoo! does not show your e-mail address when I clicked on it this a.m. Only the members pages in Open show addresses and even then they are 'slightly' hidden.
> So, if you enroll in Open, your email address IS displayed. I just tried going to my membership for the Babble Open group to see if I could change a setting just for the group, but there does appear to be a way to do that at my level as a use.
When you enroll in Open your listing in the member pages includes your Yahoo! Profile (your ID), your e-mail, and date joined.Your full address (fake for demonstration purposes): tofuemmy at babblermail dot com isn't shown to anyone but you when you are signed in. When I'm signed in I see: tofuemmy at b........ and that is all. Only the first letter after the at symbol is visible to other members of Open.
When I'm signed in to Open and looking at the member pages for my listing it reads: zenhussy at babblermail dot com. Other members would only see: zenhussy at b..........
Make sense? I know it isn't that private but unless you're using an extremely common domain then most people wouldn't be able to guess. I think it is fairly usual that babbler at y.... would be yahoo. However not always the case.
So, not foolproof but good 'nuff for Dr. Bob and Yahoo!'s standards it would appear.
