I can understand the trigger concerns of hearing the description and that is very valid. But maybe questioning what was really going on could be hurtful. I haven't gotten to know many people's posting styles here yet, but wanted us all to think about how horrible it would be to combine genuine pet-loving good intentions like your own with having carried out an agonizing deed in the name of love, to be met with this. It would be traumatic if the intentions were indeed sincere to have these doubts cast not only on that but on the suffering the pet may have have actually incurred. If suffering was indeed likely given the method, maybe the poster needs to learn for future reference, but unless reason to doubt her motives exists it may be shattering to hear the speculations....
