I can assure you that I don't know of a single Republican that wants a centralized autocratic government or economic or social regimentation of any large degree. My understanding is that fascism is a system that allows private ownership of property, but with the state telling you how you can use the property. This is in opposition to socialism/communism which involves varying degrees of state ownership of property and/or reallocation of resources. And pure free enterprise capitalism with private ownership of property and the market forces rather than the state determining the use thereof, and minimal if any reallocation of resources.
Republicans do not favor the government telling people what they can do with their private property. They are in favor of market forces determining useage of private property. They are not fascists.
Am I angry? Yes. I don't like to come to a board for support and education and see myself and my fellow Republicans vilified. I've never said *anything* negative about democrats, or socialists or communists for that matter. I think I occasionally say something along the lines that Saddam Hussein isn't a nice guy, or terrorism isn't right. But that's the extent of it. I don't insult your self styled yellow dog democrat status or democrats in general. I would prefer to receive the same politeness in return. It's apparently not against Dr. Bob's rules to insult a group of people, at least not an easy target like Republicans, although I doubt you could say the things that are said about Republicans about, say, Baptists, on this board. I think that's rather a shame. That such things are allowed to be said about Republicans of course, not that they wouldn't be allowed to be said about Baptists. I'm not feeling very supported right now *at all* by the very fact that these statements are allowed.
And Shar, this isn't directed towards you, particularly. Or even lil' Jimi. It's directed towards Dr. Bob's odd policies for a board dedicated to support and education.
