Like you may think this post should be at administration—and it does in a way—but it also belongs here, as much of the conversation that this post looks at happens here. Maybe I should post at both or you could leave and re-direct??

Tony,
Redirects may be bothersome but reading the identical post on more than one board is incredibly annoying. It wastes my time as I end up reading the same post more than once and it tends to reduce the chances of interesting discussion as some people end up replying to one thread and some to another. If you aren't sure what board a post belongs to why not just guess. Or, if you must, post a one line link to the post on the other board.

Posting on two or more boards is also unfair to people who are trying to avoid a certain kind of post. Several people have posted that they find the fights on Admin upsetting and that they aren't reading this board. They should be able to read Social in peace. If they can't, they will probably leave babble entirely.

Please don't feel like I'm singling you out. Other people have done far more of it than you have recently. It's just that I'm hoping it will stop. We used to have posts that got posted over and over on different boards and on different days until people complained. Frankly I've enjoyed not having to deal with it since then.

Thanks,
Jane

PS. I personally HATE being redirected even when I realize it's justified. I always feel a bit like I've been publically reprimanded for talking in class - or doing something else that I, and everyone watching, knew I shouldn't be doing. But then, I also HATE being redirected to stand on a different line at the bank for the same reason and I know that's completely irrational. And it beats getting to the window and finding out the teller can't help me.
