I know Dr Bob can access our IP numbers.. from that number you can find out who the persons ISP (internet service provider) is. You ISP can then find out who the IP address was assigned to at that particular time. Your ISP will have contact details for you. Now, I am pretty sure they couldn't give out this info without serious police involvement.
I don't what the situation would be with a threatened / suspected suicide. But, for instance, if Dr Bob was the contact the police, and the police thought it was serious enough to act upon, then I expect the police would be able to contact the poster.
Just my understanding of the situation.
