I guess I see it from a little different angle. To me, including the hyperlinks merely make the message more user friendly. With the Amazon link included, a quick book review is only a click away. If I’m still interested in the book after reading the excerpts and reviews, I go down to the local book store for further inspection and possible purchase.
For me, the hyperlink is merely a user friendly convenience, similar in nature to the numerous other links we have used in our posts for years.
As an aside, I sincerely doubt that Dr. Bob is getting rich off of the royalties (if any) from the Amazon sales that originate from his site. I would bet that money is not his primary motivation for promoting the hyperlink feature.
