No. I'm sure most people wouldn't. I'd use it because I sometimes sign on only for a minute to check something specific and would like to preserve the new indicators for later when I have more time. Of course later often doesn't come so this just encourages procrastination. And of course, I can get the same effect by either refusing the cookie or resetting the system time. Something like the "restore last login time" you propose would be more useful I'm sure.
