Sending Email to posters Dr. Bob

Is there a way of sending a message to a poster who doesn't include his/her E-mail address in his/her posting? I posted an ill-considered piece of information a while back, which, if I had thought to and knew how to send a personal message, would have been harmless. If there isn't a way to send private messages couldn't you (Dr. Bob) set up a personal message system? I think I asked Dr. Bob this in an E-mail, but I have subsequently lost his reply.
