Hi Paige--
I'm no CS pro, but it occurred to me while reading your post that IE may not be designated as your default Internet browser. If it's not, then every *new* window you open from either browser will be displayed by Netscape. To check this possibility, you can go to File, New, Window and see.
Unfortunately, if that's indeed the problem, I don't remember for sure where to change it. It should be under Tools, Internet Options, Programs; every other major Internet option is. Clicking on the Reset Web Settings button at the bottom of the Programs page might do it, but that will also change back any Advanced Options (next tab) you've changed since installation.
Re music. If you have no music only on your PB message windows in Netscape, changing your browser default should fix that. If some of your PB IE screens have no music, you can check Tools, Internet Options, Advanced, scroll down to Multimedia and see if the Play Sound box is checked.
Well, that's my 4 paragraph 2 cents worth. If I'm mistaken, or too convoluted to wade through, wait. Dr. Bob or oracle (or someone else) will come out with the Readers Digest Condensed Version which will be not only shorter, but correct.
Hope this helps (but not holding my breath)---medlib
