is there any way...

to require folks to introduce themselves when they first start to post, and yet not make it too intrusive? I ask this of all babblers, not just Dr. B.

it throws me off when a new name appears and seems to be up to date but i have no idea where they came from. i tried to introduce myself clearly and perhaps this is an idiosyncracy (sp?) of mine.
