Both akc & Krazy Kat, I value your opinions. I WANT to read everybody's opinions when I click on a subject heading. I want to read differing views, otherwise how will we know that other people have such different reactions. We're all very different & all have different feelings, backgrounds, problems, & of course, opinions. We NEED each other's perspective!
Both of you have made valuable comments that have made me think & I'm sure I'm not the only one to have benefited. I've read others comments in this forum which I've disagreed very strongly with but their opinion is still valuable & doesn't deserve my condemnation or chastisement. It's opinion not hard science. Even with Dolphin's posting, I didn't comment the first time in a negative way. I did forget what I'm now "preaching" & get lippy, which I apologised for.
When we feel depressed, it's SO easy to misinterpret what any one says to us. Even a glance can be so misread in that state. That's why I'll generally bend over backwards NOT to offend anyone. I'm not a wimpy, can't-take-conflict sort of person. It's just very difficult over the internet to be sure of someone's intentions.
You won't be hurting anyone but yourself with elevated stress hormone levels, & perhaps others that may decide to avoid a forum where people argue instead of supporting one another.
Please let's not make blanket staements about each other when our only means of contact & knowing each other is through this forum. Here we often watch the news & bickering, warring countires & think, why can't they get on with each other, but then, in person-to-person contact, we often do the same thing.
