The way I've understood Psycho-Social-Babble was that it was about personal support and interesting observations on therapy and life.
The rump of Psycho-Babble is about drug issues. I wondered whether a ther could be a separate "diagnostic" category. There would of course be overlap to some extent.
One could be called Psycho-Pharma-Babble and the other would be just Psycho-Babble.
A typical Psycho-pharma post would be somebody who was fairly sure of his/her diagnosis. e.g.
"I'm bipolar II. I've tried XYZ. X did this. Z this. I'm currently having some success on lithium, but would like help on symptom 2."
Posts about foreign drugs and all the wonderful research done by AndrewB and others would also go in psycho-pharma-babble.
Psycho-babble would be more like:
"My internist gave me Prozac for these problems; I'm getting more irritable. An increased dose helped, but now it's not working anymore. Could I have the wrong diagnosis?"
it might also include controversies related to borderline personality disorder and schizoaffective disorder. Essentially discussion of symptoms and their relationship to diagnostic categories which are not yet fully recognized by DSM.
Any thoughts?
