It is immoral to deny people access to life-saving treatment.

> Quite frankly I, like most people I know, think my taxes are excessive. You have no idea how much more enjoyable my life would be if I could avoid paying all taxes. But imagine the anarchy that would result if everyone would decide which laws are applicable for them.

Your taxes in the US are low & you wouldn't be better off not paying; what pays for the upkeep of yr immediate environment?

Anyway, evading legitimately-levied taxes is an entirely different proposition to circumventing draconian importation laws which conspire to deny the desperately ill means to a cure (in the absence of a state-provided one). Besides it *is* legal to import 90 days supply of meds 4 personal use.

> In any case, I have known someone who, upon taking high dose parnate prescribed by an idiot doctor was obliged to spend some time in what was once called a lunatic asylum. Advising that people ingest such chemicals WITHOUT medical supervision at high doses is nothing short of idiotic,

Agreed.

> But the fact remains that there are many who are desperately ill who visit this board, and are liable to take any advice for a "surefire" cure. Of course if they would wind up killing themselves, as is not to be excluded in cases of severe overactivation, I doubt that SalArmy4me would be able, or willing, to restore them to life, and much less to compensate them for the grief he had caused them. If he had said that parnate worked wonders for some, I would be in total agreement with him, but his elementary ignorance of the nuances of psychopharmacology, and his exhortations to break the law are inexcusable. The sad fact is that with advice like this it is NOT a matter of IF but of WHEN someone DIES of such misbegotten and IDIOTIC advice. Hippocrates said something about first doing no harm. One would wish that his sage advice would still be followed today.

Fortunately Steve, none of the MAOIs are readily available over the net (at least not on the 'official' sites). I agree that MAOIs shld *never* be taken unless under the close supervision of a professional (& that advising otherwise is courting death), but this does not apply to all meds and to all people.

I am perfectly capable of supervising my own treatment shld the need arise again, though I would never encourage anyone to do likewise.

Sincerely,
Jah.
