Mary, I think that was an excellent post. It stated your position clearly, but it also allowed for others' opinions and reactions. I don't think that people have been necessarily fair to the people who have been shocked because they did not realize that they could be quoted. And it doesn't come down to two sides: (1) those who love and appreciate Dr. Bob no matter what he does vs (2): non-appreciative, selfish or stupid people who don't love and appreciate what Dr. Bob provides for us.
I think you especially made a good point about waiting and seeing how Dr. Bob portrays posters in his article (and I'm glad you are assuming the best); you also share my surprise that "real" screen names have been used. Because anonymity is always the standard for research, I believe that our screen names should be treated as any other name; the implication from some posters that we should have protected ourselves further because all info on the internet goes everywhere, unfairly shifts the burden of the precedent of anonymity on the subject, rather than on the writer. shellie
