Hi Phil - I haven't checked in here for I-don't-know-how-long, but I was just skimming through previous posts.

I always feel edgy commenting on poetry, because what if I totally misinterpret what the poet means... but I DO want to at least say something. I think it's an amazing poem & you have a wonderful gift with words, Phil. My whole family - we're "word people"...we LOVE WORDS.
I don't fully understand your poem, but I find it incredibly moving anyway!

Thank you for posting your poem. It means a lot to me - I think it means that a person feels pretty darned safe emotionally here to do that & that makes ME feel nice about 'here'.

I'd be interested in being able to read some of your other poems if you felt like posting them. I'm going to try to 'check in' here more frequently.
