You should definitely try to remember your password, because I wrote you an extremely touching, profound email. (That's my dry, Texas sense of humor.)
I hope in your son's case the criteria for passing the exit exams are more clear than those we work with here. We use a "wholistic" approach--which means some are definitely scorable on a 1-4 point scale, but most are "liney"...between a 2 or 3, or 1 or 2, or....well, you get the idea. Each essay is read by 2 people (which is not done in all states), and disagreements are 'settled' by 'expert' readers, but some have to go to fourth readings when all three scorers have different scores.
There is very little or less likelihood that this will become permanent. They hire us like pigeons in Central Park--all you need is a Bachelor's degree and to pass the qualifying tests and you're in. It would be interesting to learn how it's done where you are.
In Texas, there are several scoring temp agencies, and they don't all just score Texas essays. Some are doing other states, and some Texas essays (I believe) are scored in Ohio and other places. [Makes me wonder what those folks think when they read "Thoughts were dancing through my head faster than Texans doing the Two-step." Of course, I know what that means, but I wonder how many Ohio folks do....?]

I don't have access to xanax, and I'm almost out of Klon. I've been taking a little extra so I'm not panicky at the job. I'm going to have to cut back because I can't get another refill until April 10.
So, I guess that's life. This is a good post, because it reminded me I forgot to take my Wellbu. today. Sheesh! Two part-time jobs has me going in so many different directions, with so few (mental, emotional, spiritual, etc.) resources.
