Caution--Possible Strong Trigger: About Gracie

Posted by shar on April 29, 2004, at 15:01:15

I posted a longer message on Social about what I found out about Gracie, but I know not all of you go to social, so I'm putting this here. I have been worried about Gracie ever since she left so suddenly, and have intermittently searched the net for information about her.

Early this morning, after my WP and I stayed up all night searching again, we have what I consider conclusive information that Gracie passed away on July 27, 2003. We do not know the manner of her death.

I think I know what we are feeling about this. I think maybe Gracie's sentiments might be expressed in this poem (which I took the unjustified liberty of editing in two places):

"I have only slipped away into the next room. I am I, and you are you. Whatever we were to each other, that we still are. Call me by my old familiar name, speak to me in the easy way which you always used. Put no difference in your tone, wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow. Laugh as we always laughed at the little jokes we enjoyed together. Play, smile, think of me, pray for me. Let my name be ever the word that it always was, let it be spoken without effect, without the trace of a shadow on it. Life means all that it ever meant. It is the same as it ever was; there is unbroken continuity. Why should I be out of mind because I am out of sight? I am waiting for you, for an interval, somewhere very near, just round the corner. All is well."

Much love to you all,
Shar
