More ideas..re lonliness.Kath et al watch this!

Keeping oneself busy. Well, I found it is good to take me out of myself! So, I usually work on music, or do something with multimedia. I made this little 'video' with a song to go with it. The song is a
'pantoum', which is a verse of four lines, with the second and fourth lines of each repeated as the first and third lines of the following one. Oyy..that sounds confusing, but it is far from it.
It's a simple and beautiful song actually. Here is the video I made:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LuIUm5TgHPw (The music isn't mine of course. It is 'The Larger Bowl' from Rush, a 'Pantoum' about the sadness of inequality and hardship.) Hope you like..:-) Don't forget to have your speakers on!

Really well done video, Jay. Disturbing images, to be certain. Makes me think about the homeless issues that the area I live in have been trying to deal with - most recently by passing laws about where people can camp out during the daylight hours. (They've already passed local laws restricting overnight camping in urban areas.) Mostly it seems to be a matter of the city trying to push the homeless beyond its streets' boundaries, to make them someone else's "problem". the latest thing is to give them bus tokens so they can leave town, can you believe it?

Then there's the compounding issue of cutbacks in programs for substance abuse counseling and temporary housing that would help some of these folks get their feet back on the ground long enough to find a job and a room to rent. The magnitude of the problem is astounding; the solution doesn't appear to be in sight.
