Wish me luck tomorrow, I'm having an MRI done.

Posted by TexasChic on April 30, 2007, at 20:44:23

I went for my first ever mammogram a couple of weeks ago and they saw something that made them want to do an MRI. Actually, after the mammogram I had a sonogram, then they tried to do a ductogram - which involves injecting dye into a duct - but after trying for 4 hours they decided my ducts were too small (and yes it was as painful as it sounds) so now we're on to the MRI. The doc said things actually look okay, but some symptoms indicate something that could be pre-cancerous, so they're checking to be on the safe side. I actually forgot what the pre-cancerous condition was called, but hey, I remembered all of that other medical terminology I used above, so I'm not going to be too hard on myself.

I told my boss and other co-worker what was going on with the explicit instructions not to tell anybody about it, so of course everyone knows. So I can look forward to questions like, "So how's your boob!?" Wonderful. I'm okay though, just ready to get it over with.

Hopefully the Dr.s are just looking to make a few extra bucks by ordering more tests. I trust you'll keep us abreast of the situation :)---really--good luck--you're ok with me Texas chic.

Oh dear, TC, this is not fun at all. If you change your mind about being okay with all of this, we're here for you.

BTW, I always find MRIs to be weirdly transcendental. Almost mystical.

Well, its done but I won't know anything for 24-48 hours. And you're right Larry, MRI's are SO WEIRD! I think of it as what it would be like to have tests performed on you after being abducted by aliens.

Hi TC. ((((HUGS)))) to you. I am keeping my fingers crossed for you. It sounds like, if it is anything, they caught it at an early stage which is terrific...and that is IF it is anything. Please take care...and remember your promise..if you or I are not married by the time we are 50, we'll marry each other. :)

If they are looking at the ducts they can get clogged and I'm sure it's nothing Seriously I've had a biopsy and nothing. Didn't even know they were doing MRI's now on the breasts. Well it's over Love Phillipa
