Postcard from the edge of my seat

Posted by clearskies on June 26, 2006, at 22:30:43

1,300 miles into my trip. Lots of driving. I taught my sister how to use the cruise control on the vehicle. His name is Tom. Sometimes he surges on the gas while going uphill. When he does this he's Jumping On The Couch. Sometimes he shifts back and forth trying to decide where to drive. When he does this he's being Glib.

I hope you're having tons of fun. I've never been on a road trip before.

I want to go on one one day. I need to find a friend to join me.

I remember you took your or your sister's dog? Sounds like you have good company.

And your sister's horns aren't showing, right?

Have a fabulous time, and do save up your stories for me, 'K? I wish you were coming back this way again, but next time around, right?

xoxo

So are you going to swing by Dallas? I guess that would be a tad out of the way.

Oh, and how is the dog? You probably know this, but be careful leaving him in the car in the heat. Greenhouse effect and all.

Hope you're having a great time!

(smile) Hobee the dog always has one or the other of us with him. He can't get in and out of the car without being hoisted. We eat in shifts or have food delivered to the hotel room.

It's working out really well!!

It sounds like your Tom could use some meds.

A bit of STP perhaps?

Alldone has quite kindly corrected me. Tom is the cruise control. I knew that at one point, but got confused.

Thanks, Lala!

A slight change of plans

There has been an uprising and I will not accompany my sister for the entire trip.
Instead I will be able to visit with the rest of my family and my best friend. This is a good thing, a very good thing.
Thank heavens for therapy.

Oh my. I'm sorry it didn't work out with your sister.

I always try to remind myself that we can't pick the family we're born into. Somehow it seems to help me to remember that.

I'm glad it's okay and that you will be able to visit on your terms. I hope the rest of the trip is smooth sailing and good times.

Aw-w-w, I'm sorry. But I'm glad you took up for yourself and got out of a bad situation. You can't help how other people act. How you handle the situation is what really matters.
