root rage

Posted by Donna Louise on June 5, 2006, at 22:09:45

Today I had a very explosive episode of root rage. I was walking through some very deep sand in the forest I live in and my foot slipped under an invisible root and tripped me and I fell flat on my hands and knees. Now this is actually pretty funny considering the sand is so soft there is no way I could hurt myself and if it happens to a guy on tv with a banana peel, for some reason that is just hysterical. But instead I let fire the very worse of some very sailor-like cuss words that could no doubt be heard across the entire county. I turned around and yanked that unsuspecting root right out of the ground and through it down as hard as I could. If I had been standing, I would have stomped on it too. Then it was over. Lasted about 5 seconds. But that is the kind of thing that sends me into a rage. If a rock dares to get in the way of my toe and I were to stub it and I had a sledge hammer handy, I would pulverize that rock. Same with a garden hose, if it were to get a kink and my hatchet was nearby, the hose would be tiny hose pieces. Then it is all over. Fortunately my neighbor does the same thing. Maybe it is the water out here in the forest, I am glad it is not in the car with the handy .38 nearby...Do you think that is one more thing about myself that I should worry about? Or I could just worry about it for the hell of it because I worry about myself so well.

I think it's a normal reaction unless you hurt someone or yourself leave the gun home. Love Phillipa

You were quite justified in letting that pesky root know your opinion. Then again, I'm biased -- I have a difficult relationship with roots, since I can grow impressive dandelions even in containers on my balcony... Those suckers have ROOTS!

As for the rest of it, I suggest you set aside five minutes twice a day to worry about your reaction. Not because it's particularly worrisome, really, but just because everyone needs a hobby...

it's about time someone stood up to those roots!! (nm) » Donna Louise

Today I have to leave my forest sancuary,ie. hermit home, and drive a little over an hour to the regularly scheduled yearly torture girlie physical. I hope there are no roots in my way, I am not in the mood to be tolerant, and drivers beware..
Seriously, I hate the girlie physical, I will have to take a klonopin to keep my blood pressure out of 4 digits.

As many people here already know, I'm undergoing treatment for infertility. Try to wrap your mind around getting girlie exams at least twice every cycle! With, you know, stuff being done some months, as well...

On the other hand, I will never again dread having it done. Too used to it...

But, that being said, have the best torture session you can, and I send thoughts for a rootless drive, amongst other drivers with, you know, CLUES!

Oh wow, I cannot wrap my mind around that. No, no no. It makes me squiggle around in the shape of a pretzel looking like I ate a lemon.
I get to have some extra torture this year but at least they are going to put me to sleep for it. It seems menapause has been very bad to the...uhm, we aren't all girls here are we...any way, I am going to have some outpatient surgery and I ride horses and I am not real happy about it right now. Hope that isn't too much info. I guess anyone who is interested in scalples and such can babble mail me...
I sure hope you get pregnant soon so your new phase of...well, I guess that doesn't come under the heading of torture...it will make you so happy eventually so I hear.
