I worry about my son. His granddad was his favoritest person in the entire world, and for good reason. My husband says that that we've been losing that person since his wife died, and I suppose that's true. He loved her so much, and he's not been the same since she died. My husband is saying over and over again that he's where he wanted to be since December, and her death, and I don't think he's wrong.
But that only makes it a bit easier. He was truly the nicest person I've ever met, and we're all going to feel his loss keenly.
My husband will go up to make the arrangements and comfort his grandmother. We were all going to go, but couldn't find a hotel room, so he'll stay with her overnight before coming back for the service.
I hate Katrina.

It is almost a year since my father died. I will never forget that time, how I felt and how babble helped me throught it.
I 'felt' when I read your original post and then subsequent posts.
My thoughts are with you during this time.

I'm sorry for you and your family, Dinah. It's never easy but it shouldn't have to be this hard either. Life really stinks sometimes. I bet you'll see the best of your FIL in your son. The circle of life.

More stuff seems to get piled on every day.
But I had a pretty good day today. Maybe a bit too good. I haven't slept more than a couple of hours two of the last three nights and that always sends me into a good mood.
So today I confronted my bosses about getting their acts together. I'm not sure if I'm the hero or the goat.
