If a friend had a visible booger would you tell?

Posted by anastasia56 on April 13, 2005, at 0:23:09

todays disgusting bodily function question comes from....who else...ana.

again tho, an interesting conundrum. would you tell the person straight out or would you vainly intimate there was a problem with slight gestures...or would you just get out of the way in case the party were to fall prey to an unexpected sneeze.

as a side note...it seems to me that i've seen a few men on the tv lately sporting a long fingernail on the little pinkie. now either this is related to some drug thing or they are using that nail to root around in their noses. what say you.

I wouldn't even "notice".

I always tell if someone has food on their face or spinach in their teeth or whatever. I figure I wouldn't want to go around all day looking gross. So I just say, "You've got a bit of spinach in your teeth (or whatever) - I'm just saying because I would want you to tell me." That usually works. No one has taken offence yet!

Mind you, I only do this with friends. If it were someone I didn't know very well, I'd be too chicken.

I'd tell the friend about the booger, definitely. Like Tamar, I would hate for a friend not to tell me about something that would embarrass me in front of others. We all have bodily functions, what kind of friends do you have if you can't be real with them?!?

The pinky nail is weird, though. I don't think I want to know what that's about.

Have you ever been somewhere and then looked in the mirror afterwards while washing your hands or whatever, and gone, ew there's a bit of dried mucus there, yuck, that looks gross, well now don't I look funny ... yeah, I always tell if it's a friend. If not, I look there conspicuously a few times so they know something's up and they can see for themselves.

I have a saying,

" A true friend tells you when that dress makes you look fat AND when you have a booger."

So yes, I would indeed do my civil, friendly duty and tell.

twice I have been guilty
bless me father...

once on a date with a new BF...
couldn't bring myself...I gagged

Gawd
then recently working with someone...
a big honker hanging...didn't gagg.

finally they found out and I just about died.

I always saw myself at one who would be honest in all circumstances..
lied by omission...

I feel better now.
